v0.6.0 Release Notes: Friends, Leaderboards, Notifications
Add friends and check your notifications.
While we are working on building our apps, we are also building our community grounds here! We have cool new features to share with you!
Visible Profile Pages, Likes, Dislikes
Of course the first thing we should have is publicly visible profile pages. You can now click "View As Visitor" button on your profile to see your publicly visible profile page. You can always adjust your privacy settings to your liking from settings page.
Also a cool new feature is you can now like profile pages. You can leave likes, dislikes and pineapples. This will be important later, keep reading.
Friends
Reaching friends page is very easy. You have the button both in upper right menu at every page and on your profile page as a dedicated button. In your friends page you can see your new friend requests and your existing friends. You can directly accept or decline requests from here or you can go to each user's profile by just clicking on their name. You can also check your existing friends' profiles, or you can easily remove them from your friends.
Searching Users
Adding friends is very easy and the first way is just searching them. To search a user, just click "Search All Users" button on your friends page. Here you can search for anything and most releavent results will be shown. Search looks for usernames, full names and publicly visible names. Of course the user should have "Anyone Can Find Me" option on to be found. Also searching with full names and visible names is only possible if they have those privacy settings set as visible to everyone. Username search also includes tag number search, just add a hashtag (#) and the tag number at the end of the username to get the exact user search you want.
Profile Invitation Links
So how can you find your friend if they have the "Everyone Can Find Me" option off? You have to ask them to send you an invitation link. It's very easy to create one from friends page. They can set the expiration date for the link and they can set this link to auto accept any number of new friend requests from this link.
Leaderboards
Another new thing you might have already realized is we now have leaderboards! You can see your place and percentage on "Ananass Points" and "Profile Likes". You can find these information on your profile or any other user's profile. We also have a dedicated page for these leaderboards. Just click "See All Leaderboards" button on your profile or you can just click on to any leaderboard box too.
Ananass Points leaderboard works as expected but we had to figure out a way to combine different like types for Profile Likes leaderboard. So we wanted to implement a weight system for different like types. Every like counts as +1, every pineapple like counts as +0.4, every dislike counts as -0.7 points. These ratios can change in the future but for now we think this system projects what these like types mean as expected.
We don't have a dedicated setting for leaderboard visibility but if you turn "Ananass Level And Points Visibility" privacy setting off, also leaderboard info will not be displayed on your profile. But keep in mind that anyone can find you from public leaderboard pages. Fortunatelly if you turn off the "Everyone Can Find Me" option, even though they can find you from these kinds of public pages, they still can't add you as friend.
Notification "Messages"
We now have this "Messages" button on the upper right corner menu that leads you to your important or non important system messages. We have 3 types of messages, grey - normal information, orange - mildly important information, red - very important information. These will give you hints and updates about your profile.
Notification Indicators
#PROFILETAGS
You can now select the best fitting profile tag for your profile. There are initially a limited number of profile tags for now but the number will be rising very quickly. The "profile tag" is the word or phrase that starts with a hashtag (#) and sits on top of your profile page with a specific colored text and background. Each tag has different colors. Choose the tag you want by clicking on your tag and by pressing the "Change" button. (Don't confuse profile tags with username tags. Profile tags are words and phrases as we said and your username tag is just a number that comes right after your username if your username is not unique.)
So how can you collect more profile tags? Each Ananass Level will give you 3 new tags. You can collect them from the same page. Also you will see a notification on your profile when the time comes. Because of the limited number of tags, the high level players might get delays on their collectable tag count. But don't worry, you will eventually get the tags you deserve with your level. (You can find your current Ananass Level on your profile with a star โญ๏ธ.)
Tags are distributed randomly for now, meaning you can get any tag at any level. But our future plans include both tags with a limited time to collect and exclusive to different situations like high level players or players about a specific app or game.
User Reports, Flagged Content
Because of every user's profile and names are visible now, we also have a reporting system regarding some inappropriate content concerns. There are a couple of ways to report a user but the fastest way is to just clicking the "Report" button on a user's profile. This leads to an already half-filled support ticket page and you can send the report faster. You can choose to add a comment or not. The page already automatically scrolls down to the needed areas, and most of it is skippable.
If you are reporting a user for an inappropriate username, full name, visible name or profile picture, the page will allow you to make a quick report by showing you the "Send As Quick Report" option on the bottom of the page. If you choose this option, a support ticket will not be created. Instead this will be a one way report that you made. You will still be notified when your report is reviewed by one of our moderators and you can see the result.
The other option is sending the report as a support ticket which is always also available from our support pages so you don't have to click a "Report" button to get there. You can also attach any user's profile link under your support ticket to automatically attach that user's profile information. Creating a normal support ticket also creates a chat room for you to contact a moderator for further discussion. So it is up to you to decide what kind of response you want from us, a quick decision or a chat response.
Any flagged content report also will have a flag ID just like the support ticket ID's. In some cases support tickets also automatically create a flag report if a user report is being discussed. These flagged content reports send notifications to the reporter and to the reported user if needed. Also these notifications will include a link to a report tracking page, some report information (but no information about the reporter), and the moderator decision if a decision is made.
Community Bot
We have a silent community bot now that looks out for these inappropriate content automatically. The bot can flag some user information for "review". This means that the user generated content will not be fully visible to everyone until the review is done. As we are still trying to improve the system, there might be lots of false alarms. But the final decisions are always made by our moderators and the bot is just there to pick and show. You can always create a support ticket about any inconvenience you have about our systems and we will always try to do our best.
Some Other Improvements:
- Significant backend API improvements across the board.
- Moderator permissions and actions improved.
- Downloading user data option includes every data about a user and up to date.
- Support ticket creation page is more flexible and easier to use.
- Support ticket page allows link attachments.
- Added more achievements.
- Various bug fixes.
- Various other improvements have been made across the website.
